SSS Yankee Clipper

The Seattle-based gaff ketch Sea Scout Ship Yankee Clipper creates opportunities for young people to learn and demonstrate leadership, teamwork, self-reliance, self-confidence and a strong work ethic in an environment based on ancient tradition and 21st-century innovation.

S/V Yankee Clipper
Join our group of active young people as we sail from Olympia in southern Puget Sound to the San Juan Islands into the waters of British Columbia. We participate in national and international tall ship events, sail on week-long summer and winter voyages, make public appearances at water festivals, and have lots of fun along the way.

The S/V Yankee Clipper is a Coast Guard inspected small passenger vessel, certified for 25 passengers (12 overnight). She is 44’ on deck, 11’ abeam, drawing 5’ and displaces 14 tons. Her current engine is a 100 horsepower Cummins, and she can carry 1,000 square feet of sail.
